Anthony Giannetti Knows Experience is Important

It is no secret that the job market today is highly competitive. Many people may be competing for the same job whether they have years of experience or they are fresh out of college. The benefits of one versus the other are often dependent on the position the employer places in terms of value. One employer may want experience, while another may want someone fresh without years of experience, so they can mold the new employee without any established “bad habits.” 

Anthony Giannetti knows this is why it is important to not only get the education in the field of interest but to also have an expanded knowledge base and experience. Anthony Giannetti has dedicated nearly a decade to his university studies. He continued his education straight from earning his Bachelor of Arts degree to working on his Juris Doctor and master’s degree, which he is expected to complete in 2013. 

However, in terms of experience, Anthony Giannetti has been dedicating his summers to working either in the business field or in the legal field. He has held three positions in each area. However, since he is currently working on his Juris Doctor at the University at the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School, he has most recently been working in positions related in the legal field.

His first three positions were in the field of business, where he worked as a consultant for the Carnegie Museum of Natural History. He was also an intern in the business field twice – once for Alcoa Corporation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and once as a research intern for the Pennsylvania Environmental Council. 

These three positions helped provide Anthony Giannetti with experience in the field of business, but it was his work as a law clerk and a certified legal intern that helped him gain experience in the legal field between the summer of 2010 and summer of 2012 in the Prisoners’ Legal Services, Allegheny County Public Defender Pre-Trial Division, and a private firm in Buffalo.

Anthony Giannetti Has Intern Experience

There are many people and professors that stress the importance of internships while you are a university or college student. Many people know that internships are more than just a way to open doors for professional connections; they also help get the experience you want and need in a field of work related to your desired field. Some internships are even competitive, so students need to demonstrate why they want or need a specific internship. 

Anthony Giannetti is no stranger to internships. He has performed several jobs during the summer months in-between his many years of schooling. For Anthony Gianetti, there was no question about the benefits his work was providing for his future. Every experience was something he could build upon and each new position and location helped him meet new people who could provide him with experience and tips for success.

Anthony Giannetti has experience working in two distinct fields. However, he also knows that there are times where they also cross as well. Anthony Giannetti has held positions in both the business field and the legal field. The first position he held as an intern occurred was working in the spring of 2009 at Alcoa Corporation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Part of his responsibility in this position was to conduct analysis on consumer products and construct a marketing plan based on the results.

Anthony Giannetti was also labeled as a ‘research intern’ in the summer of 2009 when he worked for the Pennsylvania Environmental Council. Here, he developed financial models and a research report on the Nitrogen and Phosphorous Nutrients Trading Markets. Anthony Giannetti was also a certified legal intern when he worked in the summer of 2011 for the Allegheny County Public Defender Pre-Trial Division in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In this internship, Anthony Giannetti represented clients in preliminary hearings. 

Anthony Giannetti knows the benefits of internship work. He highly encourages others to become interns as students. They are great for experience and for learning skills relevant to a professional career.
